SBS Helps Portsmouth Community
As part of StoneBridge School's Plimoth Plantation Day celebration on Friday, November 21, a "First Fruits" offering was presented to the pastor and elders of Bethany Baptist Church, home of the SBS lower school campus. The offering contained more than a dozen large baskets of non-perishable food items, donated the previous week by K4-5th grade students, and was given to the church for distribution to the Portsmouth community through their food pantry ministry.
From Pastor Primm of Bethany Baptist:
I am writing to let you know that a dozen families in the City of Portsmouth were deeply blessed as a result of the celebration of Plimoth Plantation Day on November 21st. Our Benevolence Committee was moved very deeply, also, as they assembled all the food that was given to the ministry for distribution. It required two additional tables to hold all of the canned goods that each of you brought to school for the morning worship assembly. Writing for the entire membership of Bethany Baptist Church, please allow me to say "Thank You" for the large amount of food. It not only helped with the Thanksgiving baskets we shared, but we have helped many others who have come to us in their need. Because you gave, we have been able to give generously in Jesus' name. Now, as we approach the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, may we all give praise to God for His wonderful gift of love and grace that fills a need we all have, salvation and the forgiveness of our sinfulness.
