Congratulations to the Class of 2017!
The Class of 2017 graduated on June 10 at Regent University among their families, friends, and members of the StoneBridge faculty and community. Admiral Vernon Clark (United States Navy, retired), a former Chief of Naval Operations and member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gave the commencement address, where he urged the young men and women to stay true to their beliefs while working diligently and competently in their chosen fields. This year's graduates will begin the next chapter of their lives prepared to meet this challenge with a Biblical worldview and a foundation rooted in Christ's truths. At the end of the school year, the seniors took the PEERS test, a measure of a person's worldview in five categories: politics, economics, education, religion, and social issues. StoneBridge students averaged a score of 79% for Biblical worldview, while the national average was only 7%. In fact, for the third year in a row, our graduates had the highest average among all schools that took the test in the country. These men and women received an education that will encourage lifelong scholarship and skills that will enable them to confidently communicate ideas and principles.

The senior class shared many experiences this year that prepared them for their future, including the fall retreat, thesis presentations, a two-week trip to Europe, and Senior Seminar. During Senior Seminar, led by Noel Thomason, the students were required to shadow a professional in a field that interests them. Chris Kostrzewa chose to observe oral and maxillofacial and pediatric surgery at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth. Kostrzewa said, "I've always been interested in pediatrics because I love kids and surgery. I like oral and maxillofacial surgery because there is more anatomy involved. I was able to see a wide variety of cases and even assisted on minor surgeries. I also realized that it is harder work than I thought, but I took away leadership styles that will help me in the future." Sam Worret shadowed at the Eagle Harbor Animal Clinic. "I've wanted to be a vet since childhood. I was able to observe surgeries and learned that this is something that I would personally enjoy," he commented.

The 22 graduates are all moving on to explore many different paths, attending a variety of colleges with majors ranging from Cyber Security, Mathematics, and Biology to Musical Theater and Fine Arts. We wish all of our graduates a lifetime of God's blessings!
