An
Enduring Partnership With Students

StoneBridge
Alumnus, Class of 1997
"When
I graduated from StoneBridge in 1997, I found that I was extremely
prepared for college. I knew how to study, how to govern
my time,
and even how to carry myself in a manner befitting my faith, my parents,
and my education.
In
2001, I graduated from Carson-Newman College with a degree in music.
After much soul-searching and prayer, I turned
in my application to StoneBridge and prayed for direction. The
rest, as they say, is history. I became the new third grade teacher
and
the first StoneBridge High School graduate to teach at the school.
I
have been blessed with colleagues who are at the height of their
craft. They have an abundance of love and respect for those they
teach and for one another. Through them, I have learned that
great education requires a good deal of time and energy. A professor
of mine used to say, 'If you are not tired by the end of
the day, then you are not giving enough of yourself.' As
a teacher I have learned that I cannot expect my students to
be engaged in
learning if I am not engaged in teaching. Teaching is a partnership
with students that you carry with you forever." |
