Riverview Learning Center at StoneBridge

The Riverview Learning Center at StoneBridge School offers individualized educational therapy for students with identified learning problems. We want to help restore and strengthen children who learn differently. Potential students are those who exhibit consistent low school performance, such as poor spelling, illegible handwriting, difficulty expressing thoughts in writing, or difficulty with reading or mathematics.

We want to work with parents and teachers as a team to understand and support each student. Each therapy session is administered by trained educational specialists and is based on research and techniques developed by the National Institute for Learning Development.

  • A nine month program, implementing one-on-one educational therapy
  • Two individual therapy sessions per week; student leaves the regular classroom
  • Scheduled Parent Training Sessions
  • Monthly, then quarterly observation of a therapy session by parents
  • An Individualized Therapy Plan prepared annually
  • Scheduled parent conferences and progress reports
  • Frequent communication with the child’s classroom teacher
  • Availability of therapist for mediation with child, parent, and classroom teacher
  • Annual re-testing, a written year-end report, and parent conferences

Testing is required before placement into the Riverview Program, and therapy is contracted separately from StoneBridge School.
